Big Creative Independent School (BCIS) offers Alternative Provision schooling for year 10/11 learners interested in Creative Music and Media who do not feel their current establishment is a place they will succeed.
This is a full-time programme that runs for 5 days a week and is led by teachers who are also current industry professionals. At BCIS, we use only the highest spec equipment, including the latest Apple Mac computers and industry professional software, leading to high-quality results and outcomes.

Our Curriculum
BCIS aims to provide a holistic, experiential, immersive learning opportunity that encompasses all aspects of a young person’s education.
The curriculum at BCIS builds on the already successful provision at Big Creative Training.
We focus on creative industry, with heavy emphasis on:
- Personal, social and careers development
- Achievement of the core of mathematics and English
- Solid progression routes
Through the creative subject, learners will develop personal, social and functional skills. Personal and Social development is the beating heart of the learner experience, & their experience will not be solely based around the achievement of qualifications, but a sound ethical framework permeating all aspects of the school.
The school will be a context in which young people learn from their experiences and become more effective in their decision making and relationships.
Music Production & Performance Level 1
You will develop your creative side with a focus on writing, making beats and arranging songs for recording and performing. Learn about music industry business such as job roles, contracts and generating revenue. DJ’ing and sound engineering skills are also on offer.
Sports
Engage in the world of sports and physical education in this non-accredited subject tailored for young enthusiasts. Experience the benefits of cardio therapy while exploring activities like football, basketball, and badminton. Enhance your fitness, teamwork, and overall well-being through dynamic and enjoyable physical activities.
Personal & Social Development Level 1
Prepare yourself for your next steps and the big world you are soon to become a part of. Learn employment and Social skills as well as gaining a deeper understanding about the society we live in, and a deeper understanding of yourself to identify the role you will play in life.
Science
Explore the wonders of science in this non-accredited subject designed for young minds. Delve into physics, chemistry, and biology, covering topics from space exploration to hands-on experiments. Discover the science of music and enhance your understanding of the world around you. The subject includes an exciting trip to the science museum, offering a unique and immersive experience.
Trips & Adventures
From time to time BCIS will indulge in trips and adventures in order to widen the learner experience, for educational purposes or simply to have a good time.
Recently learners have visited establishments such as BBC 1Xtra studios, Kiss 100 studios, the Science Museum, and have also engaged in exciting trips to Thorpe Park, VR Gaming centre and have even climbed the o2.
Extra Curricular Activities
BCT / BCIS runs extra curricular activities after school hours for any young person wanting to continue their education, gain extra knowledge, finish work or simply further sharpen their skills.
